Government Schemes often change, but here are some:

• HomeBuy Direct  - offers an 'equity loan' if you are a first time buyer who can't afford a mortgage for new-build home
• Shared Ownership - you buy a share of your home and pay rent on the remaining share
• Key Worker Living Programme - for workers such as fire fighters, police officers, nurses, social workers in certain areas of the country
• Right to Acquire - help to buy your housing association home
